I guess I like to think that Part I has Part II happening around it, you just don't get to see it. Something like the sandbags I mentioned would be something that you wouldn't notice the first time around, but could appreciate the second time.

Though I do like your idea of Part II Marty showing up to talk to Doc at the end of Part I.
