Everyone keeps saying "It's not as good as Batman Begins! It's not as good as Batman Begins!"

Now BB was a fine movie and I'm more of a Batman fan than I am a Superman fan, but I just don't see how "Batman Begins" is better than "Superman Returns." People keep saying, "There was too much talking, not enough fighting. The opening credits were too long, blah blah blah." People are so used to seeing shit blow up every 32 seconds that when there is character development the audiance sees it as boring. You also have to remember that this movie is a "restart and reboot" of the whole Superman franchise. It hasn't been in theaters for 19 years and hasn't had any GOOD movies in over 26 years. People who bitch and moan that SR didn't have enough mayhem and violence are probably the same people who would laugh and clap their hands if Superman blew out a star by farting. No body appreciates subtlety any more.

Now back to my point, both BB and SR are quality films (and most of us are just simply saying that), but I found myself more in love with Superman Returns than the batman movie. I hardly remember the Batman movie as it is. I loved it, but for some reason it didn't leave that much of an impact on me (I got lost in the whole plot of Bruce Wayne training with Oscar Schindler on some Tibet mountain), where as the Superman movie...I cried twice during the film. It's fantastic. I guess I can relate more with Superman? I donno.

My personal opinion: Superman Returns > Batman Begins. It was just a phenominal movie for me. I am in total love with Brandon Routh right now because of it. Much in the same way I was with Spider-man all those years ago. And that Superman suit? Total win. 100 times better than any fruity costume that has ever been.
