That movie was called Batman Begins.

Superman Returns was damn good fun too, but not in the same league with BB. I'm happy to say that I really did enjoy SR and I think they did capture the spirit of the Christopher Reeve era. I'm eternally grateful that this was not a Jon Peters production of a McG film.

I saw it in IMAX, and was a little annoyed as a result. Despite what you've heard about the new 2D->3D conversion, there is plenty of double-imaging to induce headache. Of course, I was on the next-to-the-front row and had to crane my neck upwards the whole time. Maybe it's better if you're rear and center.

IMAX did, in the opening credits, make me feel like that same six-year-old boy who saw Superman: The Movie on opening day. For that portion of the movie alone I did feel like a kid again, and neither the prequels nor Batman Begins brought back that feeling. This was the first time in a long time I felt like a kid at the theatres.

I can't figure why this one got a PG-13. I didn't see any headbutting or bloodletting, didn't hear any cursing, nookie was only implied ... I think this flick got hosed on the rating. It's not appropriate for a 3-year old, but I think an 8 year old can handle it just fine.

Long story short, I agree with DAYV's review go see it. But let me add that IMAX isn't a necessity.
