This movie is on VHS (even so its a horrible transfer), its probebly not going to be released on DVD or any other format for some time (legal trouble).

This is also on laserdisk, can anyone upload onto usenet a good transfer of the amazing comedy classic?!

It might be easier to score a Yellowbeard DVDr on eBay - yes they are transfers but some include a second disc that has the making of on it.

I have Yellowbeard from laserdisc on DVDr. I think it's pan and scan. I also have the making of on VHS somewhere.

The film's crap, y'know.

Well it is different type of humor, I like it

Do you think you would be able to upload it to usenet?

It would mean soo much!

Blasphemy! I'd love it if the WS Laserdisc of this were captured. I had no IDEA there was an actual "making of" as well.

Sadly, it looks like MGM went cheap-ass all the way on this. The screencaps in the DVDBeaver review almost look like somebody dusted off the old analog video master! I wonder if I can get the LD on Ebay cheap now?

Damn. Just, damn. They spend the time and money to create a Portuguese subtitle stream, but use a stock menu template with a generic background? I'm new enough at DVD production that I haven't released anything yet, but there's no way I'd release a half-ass piece o' crap like that.

The movie's out on DVD by now, but no extras? Would it be easy for you, or anyone else, to spot a YELLOWBEARD DVD (obviously fan made) that can have the making of of it? Please?

How certain is it that a "making-of" of the film actually exists? I wonder if the whole 2-disk Yellowbeard actually exists.

Does it? Can't anyone tell us?

Please?

I've seen the making of and I have a (Very bad) dupe of the final minutes of the Short. Why just the final minutes? I'm a rabid Nilsson fan and the end credits feature an otherwise unreleased song of his, "Men At Sea". You'd think MGM would at least have done that much to put the doc on the disc. I guess that's what we get for Sony acquiring MGM.

I have a video-DVD transfer copy of "Group Madness: The Making of Yellowbeard", so yes it does definately exist! The running time is 42m47s, has a fan-made menu screen and as you might expect is 4:3 ratio fullscreen .

I'm really new to torrenting (like 2 weeks), but if people would like and if I can work out how to do it I'll try and put it up on Demonoid some time in the next week.

Really? Great! That would make a fine second dvd for my Yellowbeard DVD.

If you put this on the internet for download, I'll definetely download it!

You know, you could spice your DVD with a fan made music video.

Here's the adress to find it: http://www.freewebs.com/pythonorbit/music.htm. You should contact with its owner to use it, I think. But it will be nice, I believe.

Great! A decond disk for Yellowbeard. How nice...

Should you do this, great, great thanks!!!

OK, perhaps I should have started a new thread instead of reviving this one but it IS on topic so...

I just wanted to note that there is that documentary, but also a TV version in open matte with an extra scene. On 16mm. Trouble is, getting that transferred isn't exactly cheap.

(There's also a trailer and a featurette that was done for TV.)

Are you saying you know where to get a 16mm print of these? The movie just came out on Blu Ray, but no bonus features to speak of.

I briefly had the old Laserdisc, and it was a pretty bad transfer. You could see that some of the stock footage they used of sailing ships was hard matted though.

Oh, I hadn't noticed the bluray yet. So that's basically the same deal as the official DVD? No trailer / making of / other?

I have a 16mm open matte print myself. Only getting it scanned is a different matter. :( It's the TV version with one extra scene.

I can organise 16mm scanning for much better rates than what is generally out there.

What would you say the transfer for a 90 minute 16mm film could cost?
