At OT.com, there always seemed to me to be a big difference between the kinds of posts seen in the general SW discussion area and the kinds of posts seen in the actual SW projects area. In fact, for quite a while I didn't even bother to read the general discussion board, mainly due to time restraints and partly because it seemed a little more... juvenile at times (Doubt it? Just look at that locked topic up there entitled "Time To Grow Up" - why was that ever even necessary here?). Not to mention that its broader scope just didn't hit the mark for me most of the time. So my insulated view of OT.com from the preservation board made it seem less like TF.N style discussions and more like professionals discussing their work. And that has mostly been the case over there.
I've started posting more over here now that I have more time to do so, and also because I find it a better than average place on the net to have SW discussions. It still beats TF.N and other popular posting places... perhaps because there is a core group here who seem to have their head on straight and are very professional about everything they do, including casual posting.
Now it seems an influx of new people have come over from TF.N to join us here after their area was shut down. That's good by me, just as long as they respect the atmosphere of the place and keep things professional and polite (even if they didn't have to on TF.N). As long as that's the case, the more the merrier.
We're here because we have a job to do, as the title of the site suggests, and that is to defend, uphold, and preserve the original trilogy - and by the same token, all other related items that are in danger of being lost or forgotten.
(God, I can hear the patriotic music fading in and the flags beginning to wave right now...!)
That will be all. Now get to work, soldiers!
