Greatest man to walk this earth.

Great. Then when you are struggling to be nice to people on the boards or in real life think about what John would do. If that’s who you aspire to be like do it. Just remember where that got him and make sure you’re ready to follow. If you become a famous artist you can’t “roll with a posse” because John didn’t. You must follow his example, which resulted in his death.

Since I’m a follower of the Jewish Carpenter I can roll with a crew because he did. Of course he sacrificed himself to his cause at age 33. I’m 33 so I’m quite cognizant of the fact that I may be on borrowed time already. Still I take comfort in the fact that I have free will and I’m not perfect so the results of my death may be different. I’m hoping that the death predictor was correct and I’ll die at age 86 in an incident involving a gallon of lotion.

I mean, I freely wear suits and ties, but does that make me counter-culture?

I think Darth Adroit hit the nail on the head with the 'HUGE BALLS' thing. I happen to be a Christian myself, but that has got to be one of the most noble portrayals of atheism I've ever read. But what I wanted to draw attention to in particular along those lines is: BE confident. Take confidence in your beliefs and why you choose to live the way you live. Take confidence in being integral to those beliefs in your actions. Take confidence in the fact that NOBODY in this universe is just like you - you are unique and special, right down to your genetics. You won the first race you ever ran (you know, the one down the birth canal ), which already sets you apart from the rest of the pack (i.e. you beat all the other sperm - gross, I know). And somehow it all came back to balls again...

But what I was saying was that confidence is a powerful thing in all areas of your life, and that includes attracting members of the opposite sex. If you get that part down pat, the rest will fall into place.

look man, just ask her out, it's the only way you're really going to find out if she digs you or not. If she does, take her out, if she doesn't meet another chick. It's really not that big of an issue. I know rejection sucks and you get all nervous and stuff but you just have to do it. There's all sorts of advice that people can give you but none of it really matters. Just be yourself and you will eventually find someone who loves and respects you.

Or you'll grow old and alone.

Then you're probably in the friend zone anyway! Just tell her you like her. I had a friend that I had a crush on for years and I never told her. Years later I found out she dug me but didn't think I did. Think about it. If you tell her and she says yes then go for it. Besides there's a good chance that after high school the two of you could quit talking because your lives will go different directions then all you'll be left with is the regret of never telling her.

sometimes i really really hate the friend zone. sean i knwo exactly how you feel, i have been there and its a very big dilema, i am still trying to figure it out sorta. all i can say is start doing nice little things liek complementing her more and such, i sent my friend flowers on her bday, gave her a mini rose(white/red), on valintines. just things like that. all i can say is it takes a little time, and then after awhile she will notice, and thats when you ask her out or do something to relay your feelings.

and that's when she'll respond with,"You're like a brother to me and I'd hate to have something get in the way of that."

Find another chick dude, I'm tellin ya'.

I'll say do you know what i've always wanted to do with my sister. jk

If you can build the confidence to ask your sister out you are more than ready to ask any other chick. BTW, you realize that most of the movies you listed were huge successes so I don't see how that makes you counter-culture. Now maybe if you said you thump the TMNT2 song by Vanilla Ice every where you go that would be different.

you guessed it, and i saw it coming too. but sometimes you have to do what you have to do, or else you'll always be kicking yourself, i wonder what would have happened if i had the guts to do this or that or what ever.

I say go for it. If you try and fail you might loose a good friend, but at least you won’t be lying on your deathbed and thinking of what might have been. You’re young, you’ll have many successes and many failures all of which will be better than the “might have beens.” No one dies thinking, “I sure am glad I never sacked-up and told the girl of my dreams my feelings.”

Why does everyone else hate you?

It may be in my mind but I was a bit emo last year.
