Hmmm...I've watched it several times now. I think I like it.
It, of course, threw me off the first time I watched it...but I think it works.
I think I'll be able to make a better decision once I see it in context with the actors...maybe?
So I guess there are a few shots in the movie where you can't change the frame rate (because of actors)...hmm...ROTS will probably be even harder to do...just thinking out loud.

What's interesting is that the picture looks better flipped (like you have it) than in the original version.
Yodas face looks more symmetrical-...or something.

Oh, I had a question: how different is the editing of the last few scenes in SOTDS? Are you changing or adding anything significant?
One of the last shots of the clones has the camera slowly panning up and to the right (you know the one. the very red-looking shot that looks completely CG).
Well, if I'm not mistaken, that shot is split up into two shots in the original edit. I don't know if you have a need to splice them back together, but I thought I'd throw that out there for you.
Oh, by the way, the way you described the scene with Dooku, Yoda, Obi, and Anakin sounds awesome! I can't wait to see that!
I wish I could think of a way for Anakin to be hiding in the shadows...
I'm also glad you're cutting out all the lightning. Interesting to note that Dooku DIDN'T use it at all in ROTS...hmmm
