Why is Princess Leia the only main character who gets shot by the otherwise aim impaired Storm Troopers?

We all know that the henchmen and underlings can never seem to aim straight when they start shooting at the heroes - not even when they're as big as Dolph Lundgren - but in Star Wars, the Storm Troopers manage only twice to successfully shoot a main character, and it happens to be the same main character: Princess Leia. Leia gets shot down while making a run for it in the opening of A New Hope (it was only a stunner shot but it probably still gave her a headache) and then in Return of the Jedi Leia gets shot in the arm during the Endor battle. Although Han, Luke, Chewbacca, and even Lando take some abuse, they never get shot by the Storm Troopers.

Does that strike anyone else here as being not kosher?
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

In ANH she was the damsel in distress, so her getting stunned was just par for the course.

In Jedi, it was, I dunno It was an obviously superficial wound.

Yeah, you can't forget the droids. Both of them got shot up. And, um, Darth Vader's outstretched hand... got shot... kinda.

Funny thing about all the people in the Star Wars universe, their skills vary depending on the needs of the plot. Must be the will of the force..the force that is Lucas that is

There was a lot of talk about this on the Theatrical vs. SE board. I don't want to go into it again, but most of the time, stormtroopers are fine shots. Consider the rules of engagement when you see them missing.

Most of time, Stormtroopers miss while running or moving, and the stormie that shot Leia actually had time to "properly" raise his blaster and stun her while standing still.

Also, the Stun Shot has a very wide area of effect, like a shotgun, whereas the kill shot is just about an inch in diameter.

It's all about payback. They are gunning for her because, as you all should well know, she's the only main character in the SW films that doesn't miss what she's aiming at.
