Why would you use a fullscreen version of the film as opposed to widescreen? Is it because the TV Cut you have is fullscreen?

someone brought up the green screen version of Sin City. Does anyone think it's at all possible to slow down the video from the DVD while keeping the motion smooth enough to work with? The film is apparently sped up about 800%. I just bought the special edition DVD so right now I'm all freaking excited about anything Sin City.

Or maybe an edit using the comics as the video on top of the audio! Has anyone brought that up yet?

Yes I will get killed for this but re-cut Jaws and Jaws 2. Take the water ski scene, and the one other kill scene in Jaws 2 and editi it somehow into Jaws. More thrills and kills. It would only make Jaws no more than 10 minutes longer

here's an idea

how about re-editing batman Begins so that it's like an episode of the 60's Batman! adding the cheesey sound effects and music and with the almighty KAPOW and KERSPLAT titles!
i've just been watching it on FX

"does anyone know where i can download the fan edited Evil Dead trilogy that has been mentioned on these boards. it's presented on a single DL"

to my knowledge it is not available yet,and yes it is 1 dual-layer disc,I also made a single-layer version to see if it would work, and it looks OK too, this was done by Crappy_logo_Productions (CLP)and if you are a Evil Dead fan, this is the shit, very cool and very well done.
hope this helps

Would be much easier with the other Batman flicks since Batman Begins is fairly light on the action and can be fairly heavy handed.

Hello. How about a definitive edit of Manhunter using the Japanese MGM release and The Anchor Bay Re-release?

Got a few ideas of edits for you guys that I'd love to see done.

He Got Game - I really like this movie, but HATE the scene at the end when Denzel "shoots" the ball sybolically to his son. Please, please remove this scene. There's a few other ones I wouldn't mind having taken out, if someone's going to do this I'll have to watch the movie again and I'll name them in the project thread.

Pleasentville - I just caught this movie on cable the other night and really hate the last scene as well. You know, when the wife is sitting between her men and wondering "what are we going to do?" I hate that.

And the big one. I don't really care about the movies above (if it came down to this one vs. the other 2), but would just about die for a quality HD transfer (if possible) for this movie.

Toy Soldiers - Can somone please do a transfer from HDNet? I love this movie, have probably seen it 75-100+ times now. Whenever it's on cable I always watch it. And it's such a pitty it's got such a crappy DVD transfer. It's in FULL-FRAME for crying out loud. If someone has access to HDnet and can capture movies off of it, I'd love to see this transfered.

How about an edit of ROCKY II - V

Make one epic film sequel out of parts 2 - 5.
Please use original Bill Conti music for scenes from Rocky IV & V

I don't have a love for that material to attempt an edit of the ROCKY films myself, but I would LOVE to see it done.

Actually I have a dream fan edit. Something I thought of after Stark Trek: TMP Director's Cut came out, when I thought there might be some tweaking done with Wrath of Khan. It's perfect, you say! It doesn't need any tweaking!! Well that's more or less true, but there's one thing that bugs me every time I watch the flick, it's that crappy matte painting of the Genesis planet viewed from space at the very end, followed by that montage of plants intended to show that Genesis was now covered with trees, which would have had to grow in, like, an hour. The whole thing could be replaced with a cool CG shot of the Genesis planet, with maybe a sunrise coming up. That and Nimoy's voice-over would be enough to imply Spock's re-generation without, I don't know, feeling so dang tacked on. Alternately, if someone were really good at SFX, you could have a sort of zoom-in on the planet, through the clouds, similar to the existing sequence, flying over the Genesis landscape, maybe with some LITTLE plants just starting to grow, and end on Spock's Casket. You guys are the experts, what do you think of that idea?
can't you shut that chicken up?

I'd be up for Fast Times at Ridgemont High with all the tv scenes added in. They have never been released on home video but offer a lot more of the movie. The film makes much more sense with them added in. TBS has shown it recently but I've yet to record it.

Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze (1975)

In the late '70's/early '80's, a group of folks (among them, authors Philip Jose Farmer and Jeff Rovin) calling themselves "The Save Savage Society" petitioned Warner Brothers to rescore and re-edit George Pal's final film, but they were turned down. As such, it was kind of the subject of one of the first attempted 'fan edits'...

The existing footage of this film does have some potential. (At least, more than in its current state...) I just got my hands on a nice DVD-R transfer of the LaserDisc of this film AND the CD, "The Fantasy Film Music of George Pal" (which contains the Main Title track of this film *without* the 'Doc Savage March' vocals). I tried my hand at cutting it back in, and it worked surprisingly well (though I lost some minor sound FX in the background). Unfortunately, the 'Main Title' track is the only one of the march tracks on this CD, so I can't really do the same with the other cues. I have found a rendition of Sousa's 'Thunderer March' (the musical basis for the 'Doc Savage March') with similar orchestration and feel, but I'd have to slow it down first to even see how it works, and some of the cues where it is used in the film have different "moods" which I might or might not be able to replicate...

Anyway, here's my vision for this flick:

* Replace all 'Doc Savage March' cues with their non-vocal 'Thunderer March' counterparts (retaining sound FX where possible)...
* Replace (by cropping and/or cutting) visual references to Don Rubio sleeping in a big crib(!) (and 'Rock-a-bye Baby' musical cues)
* Remove all musical/audio references to "La Cucaracha" (setting is supposed to be fictional "Hidalgo", not MEXICO!)
* Remove hard-coded subtitles showing fighting styles of Doc and Captain Seas (thankfully, they're very brief)
* Remove some of the cornier and/or more annoying dialogue

BTW - for those familiar with this film - any suggestions on lines to cut? I'm really torn on "Mona, you're a brick"... It's such an infamous line, it seems like it would almost be wrong to take it out, but the whole "Doc, I love you" thing is *so* premature (like, they met a few hours earlier and have hardly interacted) that I'm tempted to jettison the whole exchange...

Dunno when I could get around to this or what the finished product would be like (as I've never tackled such a project before) so if anyone experienced is interested in this one, I'd be only too glad to share the raw materials...

i'd like to see what someone could do with Daredevil, between the Theatricul Cut and Director's Cut there would be lots of usable footage.

I'll throw in another idea for someone else to tackle, should they so desire. Here at work we recently hung a few movie posters that a friend had left over from his days working at a theater. I decided to put the Armageddon and Deep Impact posters side-by-side, just well, because. Anyway, I got to thinking that it probably wouldn't be too hard to to make a halfway decent movie using combined footage from the both of them. I enjoyed both movies somewhat, but what each one had going for it, the other one lacked - in my opinion. So, in my view Deep Impact had the better story, but Armageddon had the better action - and more astroid destruction. My dream edit would keep the Deep Impact story (with some of the melodrama removed, but I prefer Frodo over Affleck) with the cooler detruction and impact scenes from Armageddon. Maybe keep a lot of the Billy Bob stuff from Armageddon, mix it up with Deep Impact somehow...I don't know. It's just an idea. CBB's War of the Worlds also kind of gave me the idea. I can't do it. I don't have the patience. However, Yoshimi picked up my Heat edit idea, so I figured I throw out another one...to keep this thread going too.

JACOB's LADDER - Here's a simple one: I'd just like to see that final "Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" bit removed. Have the film end with Gabe leading him upstairs into the white light... it'd be a much better film, IMHO...

SPECIES - Something I thought when I saw the film when first released: it would have been much better if there had been some internal conflict in Sil. Fer crissakes, she was part HUMAN too! It seemed at first that the filmmakers were going to go that way, but they didn't. Yeah, it would be difficult (or impossible) to correct this as a fan edit, but some guilt/remorse in the character would have made for a much more interesting film...

I think a Daredevil edit could be awesome, maybe a very simplified version that's just one story. I always felt this film had 2 movies worth of story crammed into 2 hrs. Or maybe even make two movies out of it, who knows!

I'd also love to see somebody take a ton of Zombie movies and make like a 3 hrs. ultimate zombie epic, showing the effects of a breakout throughout the world. That could be really, really cool.
I'm always looking to trade my edits, if you don't want to get them from a torrent. PM or e-mail!
