Satellite radio

Well, I guess my XM experience was just not Star-Warsy enough for the general discussion thread, so I'll discuss it here.

I was just bragging about how within 5 minutes of getting it turned on in my motorhome, I switched over to the Movie Soundtrack channel and heard Empire Strikes Back, my favorite SW soundtrack (and one of my favorites overall.)

I have XM, but I was wondering if anyone else had satellite radio, and if so, which one?

I have XM, but I rarely listen to it.

Its gets to be just like cable: all those damn channels, and I can never find anything that truly interests me.

Well, my Directv has XM channels too, but I never get around to those. My house is in an area that gets lousy TV and radio reception, so cable/satellite TV was a must, but I rarely listen to the radio. I drive a mile to work, and usually listen to home-brewed CDs in the car. I guess I should listen to it through my computer. The comedy channel had some pretty damned funny stuff.

We'll only turn on the XM receiver when we are using the motorhome, but the radio also has an AUX IN, which we plan to plug our little Rio into (I just received my 2GB SD chip today.) It'll play CDs also (with MP3/WMA support), but this is much easier.

I saw one or two radios that have a card slot for SD chips to plug right into. Wouldn't that be nice to have on all the radios....

Wouldn't that be cool! @ 10 CDs of MP3s. I've often considered putting several CDs on a DVD and playing them in my DVD player.

I don't know much about WMVs, but I've read they are CD quality at about half the bit-rate of MP3s. Anyone got any practical experience with these?
