To me, Jackson seems to following in the footsteps of Lucas with the "milking fans for more money" re-release ploy. There is a huge difference here though, and it's the main reason why we have all the controversy. While Jackson's LOTR re-releases offer bigger and better features, Lucas' Star Wars re-releases are quite the opposite. Yes, we get the OUT as a bonus feature, which is a phenomenal thing in itself. But how is it that in this day and age a major studio puts out a LETTERBOX feature on DVD from a master tape that's resolution is actually LOWER than that of DVD? You don't see Jackson doing anything like that, do you?
