TFN is also the first place I’ve ever been banned from. I’ve been posting on forums and/or exchanging messages since the days of BBS in the eighties and I’ve never been banned. I always respect every opinion and I never attack the person unless CLEARLY provoked. I didn’t even attack when provoked for my last year on tfn because I knew it would result in a ban.

I think the forum was probably closed because it was a clear sign that the opinions of the “bashers” (and incidentally most people at this site) were valid. It’s kind of hard to pretend that George is perfect when the thread with the most traffic on a site that size is the “Basher’s Sanctuary.”
There is also the fact that the Sanctuary was pretty much the only place on the boards where one could hint at the bias of the mods and get a sympathetic ear. When the mods got to the point that they were just using the BS to target people for banning I started to use my sock more frequently. My real account was perma-banned (despite the fact that it was supposed to be a one day ban) and so was my sock. When the bans weren’t lifted after a week I decided I was done with TFN. I just couldn’t take the hypocrisy or the teenage (no offense to any teens here) mods power-tripping. I’ve led men into combat so I really don’t have the time, energy or inclination for that type of childish shit.
Still I’m glad that CJedi72, Zombie and Harlock continued the good fight
