I'm re-reading Kevin Smith's Green Arrow: Quiver. Great book - worth it just for the first three pages - the most kick-ass Superman/Batman dialogue ever IMHO.

I'll keep an eye out for it.

Has anyone read the Superman/Shazam: First Thunder miniseries?

I don't know why, but I wish they'd do a mini-series focusing on Superman working with the Martian Manhunter. Something about them being the last survivors of their respective races makes me feel like there should be a mini-series focusing just on them working together. DC could call it The Last Sons.

Haven't read the Superman/Shazam books at all. But your Martian Manhunter/Superman idea is brilliant. I've seen the parallels highlighted before in a few books I've read, but it hasn't really been capitalised on. MM is such a cool character, it's good to see he's getting his own series again. I just hope they do justice to the character.

Thanks redbaron. Martian Manhunter is a very cool character; he reminds me of the Silver Surfer in some ways, but that's another discussion (some think he's more the quivalent of the Vision from the Avengers). You might think me crazy, but I suspect that the Martian Manhunter must feel somewhat envious towards Superman, envious of how happy and at home Superman feels on Earth even though it is not his home planet, a feeling that MM himself will probably never attain.

I'd love to see a movie about the Martian Manhunter's exploits, but it may never happen, not in my lifetime at least. If they do a Justice League film they should include him in that.

So... who here has seen the direct to DVD animated feature of the Ultimate Avengers? (Forgive me if this was discussed already)
