are Warner Bros insane? believe it or not, they're releasing an extended cut of Batman Forever in October, with new digital effects. there are plenty of obscure flicks in need of preservation on dvd, and they're not only double-dipping Schumacher Batman but extending it.

I thought it was clarified that, although it was considered an option at first, they canned the idea of extending Forever and the release will simply be the theatrical version previously available (albeit in a new transfer)?

Batman Forever is horrible no matter what format Warner Brother$ release it in! The movie sucked very badly. Although not as much as Batman and Robin! Now you're talking about true, true cheesyness! No one wants an extended edition DVD! Cna't they see that! Nope, they're like Luca$, they want the $$$$!!!!

Am I the only one here that liked Batman Forever? Sure, it wasn't up to the first two, but Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey were great in there respective roles, and really saved what should of been a mediore movie. Now Batman and Robin is a different story...

BF and BAR were just too cheesy for my tastes! Now the original and BR were great! Batman Begins was the best, though! It actually took itself seriously.

A director's cut of "Buttman Forever"? Hooray! Finally, the famous scene below will be included, as it should have been!

I like Batman Forever for what it was. Of course it would have been nice for Burton, Keaton, and Elfman to return with the Williams as Two-Face (Billy Dee) and Riddler (Robin). Batman is by far the best of the old franchise, with BR and BF tying for second. They are both equally mediocre in different ways. B&R does not even deserve a mention.

I just got this in the past week and took a look at it last night. I really cannot believe the results, it's amazing! Yeah, there were a few things that didn't quite pan out (i.e. Batgirl coming out of nowhere at all), but it didn't really hurt the flick for me because of how this played out. To me, it played out like an episode of a high-budget Batman TV show that never existed. Very nice work, greencapt.

Yes, I always watch through the credits and was very glad I did this time around!

not to bother you, greencapt, but is there another fanedit of you about to come? Since you are a pretty skilled editor it would be nice to get some more. ...wasn't there something about you dancing naked on a table to scare my mother in law for a fast leave?

Well boon, when you put it like *that*...

Having finally brushed aside *most* of my other obligations I think its now time to clean out the hard drive and start looking at the next project to do... of course after ADM's great work there may not be any films left untouched. Maybe 'Gigli'... lol

Not sure yet really though. Not to be stuck in the 'Batman' groove I still need to sit down and check out the extras and stuff on the new 'Batman Anthology' set as I'd told a couple folks I might do 'Batman Forever' next. But that said I'm gonna browse through my DVD shelves and see what else might strike me. I'll be posting any updates here for sure!

I'm looking very forward to it. And I agree, it is probably a good idea to find a whole new movie instead of sticing to Batman. Making an edit should be fun and should be done with an urge. Otherwise it will be just work and probably look like it.

what I always loved about de-assified was the especially the title. It sounds a bit not-too-serious, but exactly right for the movie you chose to edit. Please stay that couragious, greenie.

Heh heh. Yeah I wanted to be cheeky but somewhat relevant at the same time. Trust me, there were some other less-than-nice ideas.

Far from taking credit for the 'de-whatevered' subtitle in other edits but I do find it amusing that many edits are coming out that folks are calling 'de-this'd' or 'de-that'd'.

I think since editing most of the time means taking something away and the latin preposition "DE" means "reduced" or "minus" it is quite clear to name it that way. A fitting title is hard to be found anyway and it should be short to be remembered. The good thing about a "de-d" title is that you can perfectly google for it. One CBB edition is named "High Tension Minus One Edit"... googling for that really makes no sense and believe me I did that a lot, to check for reactions.

Google, hunh? Maybe I should have called it the 'Free Oral Sex' edition just to REALLY mess folks up! LOL

"Catwoman," perhaps?

I'm sorry!

Actually that's been suggested as well. I'm actually still catching up on some the b-grade comic book movies that have come out over the last couple of years. I still need to see Catwoman, Hulk.... there's still a few more I've missed. And don't get me wrong- I've been a long term comic geek but haven't *read* much of them over the last few years either. Dang real life!

TMNT: 2?

So I finished watching it... it had both it's pros and cons.

Pros
-Darker
-Mr. Freeze seemed scary
-less nipples, ass shots, the obvious
-Watchable

Cons
-Some rough transitions
-Plot Holes
-Little or no character development

The edit didn't explain the "love" triangle between Ivy, Batman, and Robin. Which I am sure you are aware of. Batgirl, or whoever she is, is only in the movie for a max of 3-5 minutes... why not cut her out completly? It is like "Hello" and next thing you know she is batgirl. Still a few one liners from freeze. And where did Alfred go? Why was he only on a screen Alfred is always at the mansion. I know the flick can't be perfect seeing what you have to work with, but I feel as if there still could be improvements.
