Tim Hildebrandt Has Passed Away...

I know I wasn't going to talk Star Wars anymore, and have been hanging out in the "other" preservation forum, but I thought this was important to share.

One of the Brothers Hildebrandt, Tim, has passed away on June 11th from complications due to diabetes.

Many of you will instantly recognize the name of one of the creators of the iconic Star Wars poster which hung in many of our bedrooms in the 70's and 80's, and others will recognize the man from his art - which has been used in countless DVD replacement covers by many here.

At any rate, an important figure in the Star Wars mythos is gone but not forgotten...

Edit - TFN is spewing their typical "one with the Force" crap, so for a more fitting tribute, which is where I learned of the news, go here:

Hmm, that's sad. How old was he?

I'm not sure, but those were the two brothers who did some of those old Lord of the Rings paintings? Those were cool. The Star Wars movie poster was as well. Despite being slightly goofy it is certainly endearing.

RIP.

Both the hildebrandts were great artists. Their paintings of Marvel characters are awesome.
