Most of the good games take a generation or two to pop up and you invariably pay a higher price for the privilege of owning a system out of the gate. I was foolish and bought a Sega Saturn as soon as it was released in May 1995. The Saturn was essentially obsolete by new years 1996 and I carried that $399 purchase on my credit card for years. My wife is still riding my ass about that one, which is why I don’t have a 360 right now.

Tread veerrrrrrryyyy carefully... Make absolute sure you get it with 4 controllers and wii sports or something. So that you can say "see its something for all of us to use, I got it so we can all have fun on riany days." Get elebits and mario. Get wii orchestra (if its not included with sports) so you can say. "Im helping to foster their musical talent."

I bought a Saturn after the first price drop, but hell, I got so many awesome games at $20 (Australian) later on that it more than balanced out...
