My mother and her brother were looking through some old things at my grandmother's house and decided to open an old safe that my grandfather had (he died five years ago). There were some guns in it (which my uncle took), along with this, which my mother took for me (with my grandmother's blessing):

It's a 19.5 inch long machete. I'd like to get it sharpened and cleaned. The edge is slightly curled at some points, so he obviously used it for something. He may have used it when they cleared a section at the back of the yard to put in horseshoe pits a long time ago.

Size comparison with a butter knife:

Stone the crows that's huge!

Incidentally, one of my American friends learned how to open a coconut with a machete in Costa Rica. When she was doing so, in front of me, she cut it open with the machete, THEN cut her hand with a butter knife!

For a second, I thought I scored a machete. Then I realized someone heisted my avatar. Oh well.

Hilarious, sir!

Yeah, that is one of the annoying drawbacks of this forum, isn't it? They won't let us be ourselves!

That ability should change if and when Jay implements the new software. Of course he's been working on that for a year+ now.

Bear in mind, when we do go to the new software and Jay sets it so only one person can have an avatar, I will be politely requesting sole possession of my persona. Otherwise, I'm going Trandoshan on you.

I'm hoping to be the only one using the Yoda avatar too. Lots of Yoda Avatar-using Newbies running around the site confusing me at the moment.

I picked Bossk because after looking at all the other ones, I decided he was the coolest. If and when we can choose our own, I'm not sure what I'll use. Will you keep the same one, or use a different picture of Bossk?

This was a custom avatar I created way back in the day (before the custom upload feature crapped out), so I'm keeping it. It's been my avatar since I started here in March 2003, so I'm pretty attached to it.

And, I guess so long as you submit to the mighty power that is Bossk and keep calling him "cool," then you're okay using it for the time being in my book.

I used to be a fiery Darth Vader, but then I thought a TIE Fighter pilot would be more appropriate for 'The Red Baron'. Especially with that red glow on it...

See? I've thought this through...

There's only been one other person, but he has since left the forum or receded into lurkerdom. I seem to have chosen an avatar that nobody really wanted to use which is fine by me.

Numerous people use my avatar. It doesn't faze me.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

As far as I know no one uses mine. In fact that's why I chose it.

I've seen few, but the guy that originally made this avatar(Doc Covington) logs on every year or so and gets mad at me for using it and asks me to change.

I nicked RRS-1980's avatar, but he has yet to catch me in the act of using it. Unless he just doesn't care.

"Doc Covington" that's a name I've not heard since...
