HOWEVER, all the complaints I've heard indicate that the only thing changed was the audio (some sound effects altered to sound more "realistic," songs removed, etc.) It seems to me, then, that to do a "fixed" version all one would need to do is simply rip the audio track from the VHS tapes (which you can get off Ebay for ten bucks) then rip the footage and subtitle tracks from the official DVDs, and then marry them together and burn them onto another DVD. Potential extras could include the English dubbed versions (the current DVDs are Japanese with an option for English subtitles, but dubbed versions of the movies WERE released on VHS back in the day).
So, besides copies of the movies and a DVD burner, what all software and hardware would I need to accomplish this? Is it really as easy as it sounds?
And just to avoid making a fool of myself, is there anyone who has already done a project like this?
