Star Wars DVD Covers — Page 101

Just out of curiosity... would anybody (namely Falle) be willing to make some of their source images available to others who occasionally make covers and the like?

There are several images I'm looking for in high resolution to complete a collection from which I can draw while working on a few of my projects.

Specifically, the images used for the Musical Journey, Bonus Material and A New Hope (non episode tagged version) covers you have there.

I have a collection of my own which I’d be willing to ZIP up and send your way if you’re interested.

Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking of making a "press" section on my site, so people can login and download what ever they want. But mail me your zip file, curious to see what you make . The front for A Musical Journey was made with two press images I had lying around.. Just mail me

At max compression my collection hits 120megs...

...soooooooo, what sort of images would you be looking for specifically? I figure I can prolly leave out much of the posters since I'm sure you already have many of them.

If you have a fast enough connection, I can just break the collection down into several chunks and mail that off, I suppose. You can just sort through and snag what you like.

My connection is fast enough !

Actually, I need behind-the-scenes/production stills of Episode I, and some promo shots. I don't need images of the movies, but I may miss some posters, of which I don't know of. I'd need this if you have.

And by the way, I thought you meant you had a collection of covers you've made.

Actually, several of my covers should be floating around the ‘net somewhere. I believe Rikter had archived a few of them at one point, I'm not sure. Unfortunately, I scrapped all of my covers when I decided to recomposite them all as PDF files, a project which is still in the works since I'm currently working on my Star Wars RPG at the moment...

Nevertheless, I’ve zipped up all of my stock images and have them uploading to a free file hosting site as we speak... should be ready soon enough. (I'll PM you the link once it's done.)

Check that... after rereading your post, I've dropped it down to just posters and anything I could scrape up for Epi I... bringing the file size down by 75%.

Just pm me the link once you've done, cause I gotta go now.

Also do you want my material now or later when my press site is complete?

Sooner the better, I always say, but whatever's convenient for you is fine.

I figure just uploading to a file-hosting site will prolly work best for all.

Falle will you be making some disc art to match all those nice covers?

Actually, I've never made disc art. If you've got a template so I know the size and stuff, I might look into it.

By the way, they will be available tomorrow..

It's a really nice set! But I have some problems with Episodes I and II covers. Why not have used the posters completely?

Thanks

@Kaal-Jhyy: It's easy to answer that question. When you look at the posters, the color just stops around them, not filling out the entire black levels, so I just cut them out, so they'd look like the rest of the set

I uploaded the set, enjoy!

The covers look great, but as somebody mentioned before, you misspelled Emperor on all of them (you wrote Emporer). I know it's a minor issue, but any chance you could fix it and repost the sets?

Indeed they do look great, though I would disagree with you chuck - I think it's a major issue. Also it appears some images are more optimized for display rather then print?
Some were not blessed with brains.

On this new set, I've corrected the Emperor and showdown, but haven't corrected the old ones. I will do that after my exams, 'cause I have school and websites to finish as well as disc art for the new set.

And the images looks fine on print; which of them did you have in mind that wouldnt look good?

On your new set (which looks fantastic), the Emperor mispelling is still there. So, unfortunately, all of the cover sets need to be fixed. I look forward to your corrected sets when you have the time. Good luck on your exams!
