As Much As I'd Love A Remastered Version of the OOT....

I don't trust Lucasfilm to do it right. With all the respect they've showed the OOT in the past, it'd have the same treatment the 2004 dvd's got. It'd come out of the blender with pink and green saber's, and miscolorings everywhere....

Of course, a frame-by-frame process would be perfect, if they'd devote the time to it. Anyone catach the 2005 DVD of Wizard of Oz? It'd be nice to get a remastering like that.

So if they do remaster the OOT, that might be a bad thing. Darth Vader has a red lightsaber!!! NOT PINK!!!

Heh, the pink lightsaber thing has never really bothered me. Hell, I've never noticed it, to be perfectly honest. Just remember, real men kill with pink.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

There must be lots of lucas bashing threads around. You could of just posted there instead of starting another one.

I'm not Lucas Bashing. I'm just saying I don't trust Lucasfilm to do a worthy remastering.

Imagine what SW on DVD would be like if Fox had the rights to these movies. That's the difference between a studio and an independent production company. Studios like Warner Bros. do the trickiest restorations all the time for DVD. Lucasfilm can't even pull off the 2004 trilogy let alone restore the original versions.

I think that some day we will have a nice remastered version, but it won't be until Lucas is gone. No getting around that. Until then, I'll be quite happy with the DVDs coming out in September. I've loved the quality and the coloration on the Laserdiscs, so I'll be happy. I don't want to even come near a Falcon Green saber or a Pink Vader puss saber. No thank you. Plus, I like my Yavin 4 Death Star Trench Run Battle to have proper music levels (conscious creative decision my ass).
