Hahaha! You see, this is funny... um... how can I explain this... I was rewriting ROTJ to make it more palatable for myself, and I in research, I found that Lucas, in an early creative session, came up with Endor as the moon that circles Coruscant (There is evidence of this still in the final script---the story was that the Emperor was going to move his palace from crowded Coruscant [not called that in the script btw] to the Jedi Temple on Endor. So, if you ever why the Emperor calls Endor the 'sanctuary moon' this is why)... On Endor there was suppose to be a Jedi Temple. This would have EASILY settled my clamoring for a Jedi Temple on a nature-filled world, and would satisfy those who want a temple close to Coruscant.

I truly say that if Lucas had stuck with some of his original ideas (Leia not Luke's sister, the rebels invade Coruscant, two or three small weapons platforms instead of one giant DS...) and committed to them, we would've had a better ROTJ, and better prequels. But that's just IMHO.

Wouldn't Coruscant have a protector, too?

Not necessarily. Jedi are not as numerous in my rewrite ideas. However, I toyed with the idea at one point that there was a protector for Coruscant, and he had turned to the dark side. Obi-Wan was forced to battle him and killed him. Then, when I was treating Vader and Anakin as separate characters, Vader took the position left vacant.
