I just see it like this: Yoda and other Jedi trainers live someplace remote, training in isolation, without distractions, etc. Once the Jedi are trained, they pledge their allegiance to some world they have similar values/ideals, more than often their homeworlds. They leave the masters, returning occasionally for additional training. That's all. I'm thinking very simply about it, and I can see a Jedi training better in a nature-like peaceful environment, rather than a bustling super-metropolis. But, that's just my notions, I guess.
