Hmm, well then this release may be worth getting after all. I have more hope now anyways.

If the disc art looks anything like the box art, I'll be making "backups" anyway, at which point, you may as well remove the menu and extras.

I've mentioned before that I plan on making a copy so that I can have a disc without any new artwork on it, to go along with the cover I'm making.

Is it easy to leave the game and Lego preview off of the copy?
*edit* - Yeah, and the menu also. I just want the movie on there.

You can do it with DVD shrink, but if you need a pro work, then you need DVD Remake pro, cause DVD shrink can only replace stuff with still images, it can't erase completely their existence, neither delete the buttons linking to these parts.
And now, for your feature presentation:
The Classic Re-re-re-release of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back.
In this version the word "WOOKIE" has been changed to "HAIR CHALLENGED ANIMAL" and the entire cast has been digitally replaced by Ewoks.

Strip the DVD of menus and extra trailers and demos and nonsense, reformat to be anamorphic without re-encoding (totally lossless, or as close as possible), tack on appropriate and vintage extras at the end to fill as much space as possible without needing to compress, and burn to a Dual Layered blank DVD.

So much better than the actual disc itself. Not to mention using it and the '04 discs to make a hybrid version to fit your own tastes.

My stance on revising fan edits.

Or the be even more accurate - masters used for the laserdisc release.
Some were not blessed with brains.

What the HELL is going on? Can Lucasfilm release ANYTHING (besides Caravan of Courage) that doesnt have some pointless promotional plug for the next product (i.e. games, etc.)? I dont know about you guys but I was PISSED when I saw the "episode iii preview" on the original trilogy dvds. I even remember that the Star Wars Trivial Pursuit had a "special Episode One preview pack" inside.

It really cheapens the films. It makes them seem like just another marketing tool rather than a truly special film experience. How much further will money drive the corrupt corporation that Star Wars has become. When will it be about the magic again.........
For some reason, the "Hey, That's My Dinner" line has ALWAYS bothered me.

I though exactly the same thing! The movies, all 6 episodes, seems now to be only promotional tools for the Lucas Empire. They are just big advertisements for Industrial Light & Magic, and all that crappy toys and video games. And it all started in 1983 with these stupid teddy bears...

There's no other franchise that has been so abused in the name of marketing. "Leverage the power of the brand", indeed.

Han: Hey Lando! You kept your promise, right? Not a scratch?
Lando: Well, what’s left of her isn’t scratched. All the scratched parts got knocked off along the way.
Han (exasperated): Knocked off?!
