Ah, good old Krull. One of the better Star Wars rip-offs, but not by much. Interestingly, the original working title was Dungeons & Dragons, which later became Dungeons of Krull, Dragons of Krull, Krull: Invaders of the Black Fortress, and then eventually just Krull. On a personal note, I first saw Krull about five years after it came out when we inherieted a bunch of video tapes with stuff recorded on them. Whoever we got it from must've taped it off HBO or something like that. However, the begining was taped over by,... whatever was before it. So I started seeing the movie from when Obi Wan (or whoever that old guy was) was patching up the prince guy after the big battle where his father was killed and his bride was kidnapped. Which means I missed a bunch of set-up stuff, most importantly the wedding scene where the magical fire or whatever was part of the ritual. ***SPOILERS AFTER THIS*** This means that at the end of the movie when they recite the marriage ritual again and she goes "take the fire from my hand" it was like coming from out of nowhere. Almost like how early Superman would develop convenient powers when he needed them***END SPOILERS*** In the end it's not a horrible movie, but it is rather contrived, like how the Dark Crystal was contrived. the plot moved along with what seemed to be a purpose of showing this or that neat effect vs. feeling real and true in the story. You know, unlike Star Wars. It has some IITS moments is what I mean.
