With the recent and upsetting news that Lucasfilm will NEVER release the Original Unaltered Trilogy in ANAMORPHIC Widescreen... I was wondering, when the non-anamorphic dvd's are released, if us, the fans, can just make them anamorphic ourselves. I have no clue how to do such editing and don't know how hard that would be. But I have seen various laserdisc editions, and some have been able to turn a laserdisc transfer into an anamorphic one. At least that way it can be played on a widescreen tv. Will anyone do this, but not change ANYTHING else to the new dvd, except make it anamorphic?

If the copyright issue is a problem to people, maybe somehow you can make it so the only way anyone can get these "fan-made anamorphic versions" is proof that you purchased the new dvd's.

This is all just a thought. I just want to have these in anamporphic. And I don't care how it happens.
