Eh, that's my worst one. Then I got the red one, which is getting pretty old, too, because red's my favorite color, and I started using it as my primary. Then the third I got was the blue one, which is still almost in mint condition, because I soon got the Extreme Green controller, which became my primary, and it's getting a bit worn too. And, a year ago, I bought a third party controller, which has a tighter but slightly less precise control stick. I use that as my primary now, because I'm not as worried about it being worn. However, when I played Majora's Mask a few months ago, I'd have to sometimes switch it out with an official controller, because the stick wasn't precise enough to aim arrows at very small targets.

Yeah, I've noticed the spotty control sticks on third-party controllers too. I've got a third-party GC controller (Spider-man, now that I think of it; the only reason I got it was cuz it was in a $20 2-pack, yet one of them was already broken ) and it's overly sensitive. I have trouble playing the Zelda Collector's Edition disc because it's hard as hell to aim the bow/slingshot.

I only own two third-party controllers. There's the N64 one I've already mentioned (made by Pelican, whom I've never heard of, but it's a turbo controller), and the SNES controller I got to replace the one my dog ate. It's made by Superpad, I think (I could check, but that would require me getting out of this chair). The cool thing about it is that it retains the Japanese Super Famicom button colors (red, yellow, green, and blue, as opposed to light blue and dark blue). It's a little bulkier and has no special features, but it's a pretty good controller, although I haven't used it in a while.

I don't do that, but my brother does. That probably contributed to his controller problem.
Try as he will, he'll never destroy an Atari joystick though. Those things have hit our concrete basement floor so many times I've lost count.

Older stuff is almost always build better.

The reason that the gc controllers are more likely to break is what is known as 'paddle' engineering.

I.e. the more moving parts you put in a machine, the more there is that can break. Therefore the most efficient engine is a paddle, because it only has 1 part.

Gamecube controllers are more likely to break because theres more stuff in a smaller package.

whats the nice thing about the wii controller? A. it has a wrist strap so that you won't accidently chuck it when swinging at baseball or a sword. Therefore, it makes it MUCH more difficult to toss in a rage. B. There are less MOVING parts in it. Therefore there is less to break. I predict that people will be replacing the nunchucks the most because it has a joystick. There is also the fact that people are more likely to abuse a nintendo product because they 'know' it can take it.

People can die by tripping. Same philosophy. Just because you smash a controller 100 times and nothing happens doesnt mean that another one wont break on the first go. Nintendo just happens to have an higher median on console and controller life.

Always have an old magazine around, so when those moments happen, you can throw it against a wall while screaming at the top of your lungs.

BUT! Something tells me Nintendo will sell a LOT of spare wiimotes.

I don't doubt it. Though, there is a wrist strap for the wii-mote so that it doesn't fall out of your hand.

A mate of mine has absolutely demolished most of his XBox controllers during his beserker rages...but he is an extreme case. An extreme nutcase, that is...

My stupid little sister once destroyed Phantasy Star IV in a fit of rage, just when I was *so* close to finishing...that is to say, I can't save games on it anymore...

Unfortunately, my wireless router is not working. Hopefully NIntendo will relase one of their first part adapters with the Wii so then it won't be a problem anymore.

In my great mercy, I allowed her to live despite her grievous offence. I now have a ROM of it on my XBox. Behold, I make all things new!

Looks like the Wii's got the strongest launch line-up in gaming history. 16 games and counting, including Zelda, Metroid, Madden, Tony Hawk, and Super Monkey Ball.

That's a damn fine place from which to start, isn't it? And it's going to serve as proof that game designers are finally taking the Nintendo seriously again. Before, people had to wait for titles like Madden on Nintendo. It always went to PS2 and X-Box first. Now Nintendo will be getting them all at the same time. That's good news.

This just in: Wii will ship in september.

From the article: Pokemon diamond/pearl will be released at christmas along with pokemon revolution. Players will be able to hook their ds up to the wii to transfer pokemon between the two.

On that note, the Ds will be fully iintegrated with the Wii. 24Connect will be able to download demos to your DS while you sleep. The Wii will be touchscreen capable. Ie plug in your DS and you can use it as an additional touch-screen controller.

Virtual console games will be between 4 and 8 dollars US. (5-10 Canadian).

The consoles WILL BE SOLD AT A LOSS!!!!!!

Nintendo has never sold a console at a loss before. This means that they purposely went out of their way to hit a certain price point even at their own cost. This is standard but nintendo has never done it. Does that mean they are going to release at 199$ or could we be seeing some price nobody even dreamed of!!!

You misread that: President Satoru Iwata stated that the ship date announcement would be this September. It doesn't say anything about it actually being released in September. And, not trying to be an ass, but until a site like IGN or GameSpot comes out with something about that speech, I'm gonna be skeptical. If that is true though, I think the Virtual Console games are a tad pricey, at least for NES & SNES games.

uhhh... the source is famitsu.... You can't get more reliable than that..

I just went back and clicked the link that had famitsu by it in brackets. The reason I didn't "trust" this article was because the writer didn't mention anything about Famitsu. If IGN reports something they got from Famitsu they usually say, "In the recent edition of Famitsu...." or something along those lines. They normally credit it in the article. Anyway, I clicked the link and Famitsu had that picture on it's site, so I believe.

Now we just need to get the official release date and price.

Yeah well, kotaku is a blog site. They generally report the news, and then link the article they got it from. The difference is that IGN waits for the info to trickle to their reporters so that they can claim it as their own source.

What is the difference between the date that it is shipped, and the day it is sold? I refuse to belive the Wii consoles would be on the back of the stores for two months!

From what I know, talking with someone that works at Toys"R"Us, he told me that if a systems release date is said to be, say, July 15, that they will most likely get it July 17. They tend to get it a day later then, depending on when the company ships it. Of course the company could ship it so they will be able to launch the console on the day the company said the release date is.

Does that make any sense to you?

So that means that the release date might be september after all, right?
