Is it still insulting, your damn right it is, and I think we keep fighting and putting pressure on Lucas til September 12th. But when it is all said and done, I think we should buy it. As I said, this will be the best version of the O-OT any of us will have in the present day, I am going to go out on a limb and say Anamorphic is better, but I think for alot of olders movies, it isn't that much of a difference where it is jarring.
Lucas has us by the balls, if we boycott, he says, "See I told everyone nobody wants this set of my original vision." and he still makes money cause someone is going to buy it, and the O-OT dies in the wind. But if we step up, and kind of take our medicine, then it will show Lucas there is a demand, and if he knows he can make money in the future, HD-DVD of the O-OT is an almost certainty.
Guys I look at this fight in the bigger picture, if Lucas begins to release these versions because of heavy demand in the future, then the next generation will have that choice, and that is what Lucas has always been against. To him it was his way or no way, but this is the first time he is kinda going by what the consumer wants. So this is almost like fighting for the next generation of fans that should see Han shoot first.
I honestly think that Lucas really believes nobody wants this, and that is why they are not taking any time to really do this right. I actually believe him now when he said a couple of weeks ago, "It will all come out in the end." I think we have to buy this set, to show the man that his original vision is the one we love.
Either way he is making money, so I don't even think about that anymore. Why not in the process of him raping us atleast show him a huge demand for these movies, and still be able to enjoy the 3 movies in the best quality we will have via 2006.
It ain't perfect guys, but I still believe this is a huge step, he had to eat crow and recognize these versions, that was half the battle. Now lets make him realize we will spend just as much as the SE crowd will in the future.
As Princess Leia says in Star Wars, "It aint over yet!"
