Jay, your response inspired my latest thought on the issue of owning the LDs and what rights they protect. I made the response in "The Official Lucasfilm Response" thread to Harlock, but it came right after reading your statement here.

For me, with no official O-OT source, the DVD is probably the best legal protection I'll have on owning the X0 project. For you, you've already got the LD, so owning the DVD would be completely redundant since they've done nothing to enhance the picture or sound. (In fact, they've compressed both.)

I've really gotten my brain working overtime on the issue. Today would be a good day to have gone into law.
