I've never used the Demonoid sit actually. What is the registration for? It seems I was able to start the torrent without it.
There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

This would get completed after I found a nice torrent of stuff. Someone ripped the pics and audio from most of the rare Fan Discs. Quite a bit of stuff there.

I'll definitely grab this once I clear space. I just wish I could've been a bit more involved, seeing how much I love the show.

Disabling Auto Updates is pretty simple. Assuming you're using SP2 (unlike me), you should be able to disable it from the Security Center under Control Panel.

Barring that, right click/properties on My Computer. There should be a tab for it there. If you do have SP2, be sure to disable Windows alert system for it under "change how indows alerts me" in the Security Center. Otherwise it will bug the bejeebus out of you.

I never came across the Evangelion Matrix Reloaded parody. How about a link? I found enough material to honestly make another 3 discs of bonus materials, but I kind of doubt I will ever use all that stuff. Someday in the far, far future I may do a second special features disc, but as for now, I'm putting Eva out of my mind As far as the movie, Peter Jackson is not doing it. His effects company Weta was contracted by ADV Films (the U.S. license holder of NGE) to do the CGI for a live-action Eva movie. According to ADV, they actually intend to do a trilogy of movies, and are currently shopping for a director. Apparently, this was supposed to have gotten off the ground a few years ago, but King Kong used up all of Weta and NGE got put on hold. Matt Greenfield (an ADV bigwig), is also known to be very full of shit, he talks about the series with a familiarity like he created Evangelion. I doubt a live-action NGE will ever come to be, but if it does happen, it will definitely suck. There is no way they can condense 13 hours of a TV series and a 2 hour movie into approximately 6 hours and have it be good.

Greenfield is VP of ADV and most definately full of shit. They ran out of project money and are currently trying to convince some financial backers to join the project. That's why WETA stopped pre-production and went on to films which actually have a chance in hell of being made. ADV is also re-re-re-releasing their dead horse title for another beating as a "premium" package that's even better than the extras with "Platinum". This time you get a jacket with those extras they didn't give you the last time for only $250. Being f'ing deal. It wasn't worth it the last few times, it won't be this time either. Grab the R3 which is actually progressive and has all the R2 set stuff for much less.

I totally agree on the Live action front.

As for more discs, even I would consider trying to make another. Who knows.

The torrent needs some help. You're superseeding, right?

If the new boxset had the remastered movies, I might consider buying it just for the english dub and for collection! I highly doubt that though, anyone know if manga still owns the rights for the movies? If not I am happy with my DTS collectors edition from Japan. Thanks for this dvd! I have been dying to own some sort of extras for this Series!

Manga's still got them.

Bah! Oh well!
I guess ADV is not getting my money for this, I already own the Full Platinum and the Manga Movies, and both the 5.1 and DTS Remastered Versions of the movies from Japan.....yeah. Maybe they really do not need my money after all I spent, lol!
The live action movie, I really do not know if that could work out. 13 plus hours condensed to 6 hours, if done perfectly it might work. Well this is better than the DBZ rumored movie back in the day, which of course was Wednesday!

Regarding the live action movie, my favorite thing Matt Greenfield said in a recent interview was (now I'm paraphrasing here), "Weta gets more emails on a daily basis than they do for Lord of the Rings." Well, no shit Sherlock, because LotR is over. Why would anyone send them emails about the production of finished movies? I think you guys are right in saying they lost their financial backing. Why else would he say stuff like this? Most likely to deflect questions about the live-action movie's lack of progress.

On a side note, I have a low resolution copy of animatics for episodes 25-26 and Rebirth. Is anyone interested in seeing these? Better still, does anyone have a high resolution copy they would be willing to let me use?

OK everyone, go ahead and stop your downloads, there is something wrong with the disc. I have had numerous reports that the files are watchable as standalones, but for some reason the disc is not burnable. I'm not a newbie at this sort of thing, so I have absolutely no idea what the heck is going on. On the bright side, I will be able to (hopefully) get some subtitles on the Genesis docs in the extra time I will have. I will let you all know when a Remastered version is finished. It will happen, I promise you, so please be willing to download this huge chunk of data all over again.

And I had only 36 megs to go.

I'd be interested in seeing the animatics.

I saw this post on BrikHaus web blog site and thought I would post it here as an update:

Quote "OK people. So good news all around. I fixed the problem with the disc! Also, I found a translator for the documentary!! However, I am going to hold off on releasing it until the translation can be finished. It may be a while (I know I am really slow at this stuff) but it will be worth it in the long run."

Thanks for the work and effort brikhaus I for one appreciate it, and I'm sure all the other EVA fans on this site do too!

Can't wait to see the finished project, but will wait patiently until it is done.

I got the full length Intro and Outros from the Test type DVD in 5.1, if you want them let me know!
I checked the currupted dvd to salvage parts, but the image quality on these two videos was not all that great.

Hi Krycek87,
I'd love to get my hands on those DVD quality intro/outro videos. Please contact me and hopefully we can work something out. I know it sounds crazy, but I'm glad there was an error on the first disc. Because now I am getting higher res stuff and a translation on the documentary!
Thanks

BrikHaus81,

I'm glad you're going to be able to add the documentary and intros/outros.

However, can I make two suggestions before you get round to doing the final DVD? Please don't use DVDShrink after authoring the disc (in DVD-Lab or the like). When you're putting the disc together jsut make sure that it'll all fit on one DVD - that way there's no degrade in quality. The other suggestion is; why not use Dolby Digital instead of MPEG Audio? If you don't have an encoder you should talk to some people around here who might be able to encode the audio files for you. I might be mistaken but I think Dolby Digital would take up slightly less space than MPEG audio. Plus, MPEG audio isn't as widely compatible as Dolby (Dolby being the DVD spec standard after all).

And once again, I can't wait till this is finished and I can grab a hold of it.

I'm not sure who to talk to. Perhaps make a thread in the technical forum and title it something like "Need encoder for Dolby Digital. Please help" or something.

BrikHaus81, you got a PM
Just very curious, does anyone care for a Remastered End of Evangelion, with English 5.1 and both 5.1 DD and DTS Japanese? This is all sourced from the Renewal set. THe DTS if full bitrate also....you know what that means!

Glad I could help.

I just wanted to ask, can one of you Eva fans confirm this: my understanding of the asian DVDs is that the Japanese Renewal box was limited and is now out-of-print. I was wondering if you can clarify; are the individual discs of the Renewal collection available separately? Basically I want to get the remastered version of the series. In terms of the Renewal bonus disc, what have you left off this disc BrikHaus81?

The discs are available separately, and for substatially cheaper than if purchased in that limited edition boxset. Otherwise, they are identical. If you plan on getting them all, make sure you get the DTS Collector's Edition boxset for the films (if you have DTS capabilities because it doesn't include Dolby Digital). The sound mix is incredible. It really blows away the previous DD 5.1 and 2.0 mixes.

As far as extras, I am including everything from the Bonus disc except for a couple of trailers for other films by Hideaki Anno and a lame live-action music video. Trust me, I've got all the good stuff going into this disc

Thanks for the quick reply. So I want to get the R3 Taiwan DTS collection? Would you be willing to email me (my address is my OT.com username at gmail.com) to help me understand the situation of the movies? I hear that the 'renewal' versions are different to the ones on the Manga discs (not the DTS or remastering but the actual content).
