As others have said, please continue to release these as MPEGs (having them as proper DVDs would be even better, but that's a step I can take). Those that want them as Xvid/Divx can reencode the mpeg. If you release them as Xvid/Divx, those of us that want them on DVD have to reencode to mpeg (which would probably cause a quality drop) and then we'd have to author them onto a DVD. As long as they're released as DVD compliant mpegs, either group of people only has to take one step to get what they want (either authoring onto DVD or reencoding to Divx).
