Don't think it will make much difference who supports what format. In the end, most people can't use the HD formats, and don't really care at this point. They are happy with regular DVD, and don't see a reason to switch, especially since they just got off VHS a few years ago. I see HD-DVD/blu-ray becoming this generations equivilant of the laserdisc.
