PROJECT IS CONSIDERED FINISHED.

After test screening it will be published probably tomorrow on Piratebay and Demonoid (as external link, so please don't care for shown seeders and leechers)

The front cover of DVD cover 2 is what I envisioned my Kirkless Generations front cover to look like. I could never find a decent way of merging the only pic of Kirk I had onto the image though. Whoever created the cover this time (still Castor & Troy?) they've done really well. I can't think of anything different that I'd do for mine (guess I won't be doing one).

Hi M8,

Have had alook on the normal bittorrent sites but can not find this film, is it up & running?

Thanks

yes, on piratebay with plenty of seeders.

Using the demonoid tracker it is also up on demonoid, seedler, mininova, torrentspy, torrentportal, btjunkie, bushtorrents (cool page), meganova and fulldownloads.

The first upload was especially for piratebay because we included some nordic subs for them. Sweden rules!

The second upload was, because piratebay shows no peer data and I for one need that to see if the torrent is working.

Perhaps someone who has finsihed the piratebay upolad can jump on the demonoid upload (which is the same except for an 1kb txt file) and help me seeding. Your help is much appreciated.

I was finished downloading, and had reached an 0.866 share, at Piratebay, but I switched to Demonoid - I'd rather use my bandwidth where my ratio is kept track of, anyway. Unless you consider that cheating.

I'm looking forward to having the time to watch this, in the next few days, now that most of my must-watch shows are over for the season (I only had the chance to skim the PAL version, and happened across one of those first-version flaws - where Soran is jumping off the bridge).

I'm one of those folks who enjoyed Kirk's part in the movie. I thought his pain-in-Picard's-ass role was hilarious. After the times he's had to resist paradise for duty, this was his chance to accept it... Of all the times he's had to talk an unmotivated/counter-motivated stranger into risking their life for his mission... And the fact that he talked himself into going...

But I like this idea. While removing Kirk is the opposite of what I would (might) do, the idea makes such perfect sense - it had to be done. And I must see how this feat was accomplished!

One day I found... 10 years had got behind me. Next day was worse.

Download  shows from Cable DVR (Updated! Yes, it needs a rewrite, but it's worth slogging through, anyway).

I find it very interesting, you want to see a version of a movie although you disagree to the making of it. Very tolerant. Nice attitude and hopefully you will enjoy our edit.

I sneaked a peek at the beginning. Very nice, indeed! Without giving too much away - the theme's somewhat traditional-feeling elements leading into the ye-olde-Enterprise ship on the holodeck.... Brilliant!

The holodeck scene seemed rather drag-butt, in the theatrical version, to me - a let-down from the excitement of Kirk's first "death". Flows smoothly, this way. First time I've actually enjoyed that scene.

This HQ version is easy on the ol' eyeballs, too.

(Sorry about dropping off of seeding. It's fixed now).

Edit: "traditional", not "raditional".

One day I found... 10 years had got behind me. Next day was worse.

I was put off by the intolerant comments I saw at Demonoid. I am a fan of the original series, more than the ones that followed. I enjoyed Kirk in Generations, but I still have Generations! Nothing was lost. If your group had asked me, before you decided to do it, I would have insisted you do it. The idea is fascinating.

I like seeing a familiar movie from a new perspective. I have very different ideas for the movie, but like the expression says "Its all good.". As I posted in the same minute you did, I enjoy the beginning already. A scene that made a poor segue now makes a pleasant, and rewarding beginning. It flows nicely into the dramatic points that follow. Generations had some pacing and writing problems, at times. And part of that may've been from trying to serve (in a sense) two stories.

I'm a huge Star Trek fan and was seriously dissapointed in Generations. Some interesting concepts for sure, but I always thought incorporating the original cast was unecessary (not to mention the lame way of killing of Kirk!). TNG could have stood on its own, as seen in First Contact (unfortunately the ONLY good TNG film). Anyway, I would be very interested in acquiring this on DVD through PIF or any other means. So if someone could PM me about it that would be great.

Have just viewed this edit & I am very very impressed, very seamless & the colours look even richer to me than they did in the orginal film. Menus are very nice & a neat touch having the deleted Scenes of Kirk so you can view them if you want. Very nice

I would love to see this, but I need an invite to the DEMON drOID (minus the "dr") for that to happen. PM me if someone can help me out.

I have to say, not bad. Like everyone else in the world, there were one or two things i would have done different myself but it looks good to me. too bad there weren't decent quality deleted scenes to include, like Geordie's torture. would have made the whole "his heart wasn't in it" joke make sense. but in any event, thanks for the work. it is appreciated.

I had a thought today. anybody try doing an edit of "First Contact"? It is a pretty sound movie but i had the idea of removing all of the Data/Borg queen scenes right until the end where Picard goes to Engineering after everyone else abandons ship. While those are good scenes, they can be removed and it doesn't hurt the main story of the movie. plus if you remove it, it makes a bigger impact towards the end when Picard is on the bridge and he hears Data say "Captian". Just like Picard, the audience assumed the worse and now realize he survived. As well, it makes a bigger impact when Picard sees the Borg Queen for the first time. We will have seen her at the beginning of the movie but like Picard, assume she is dead since we didn't see her through out the rest of the movie. then all of a sudden, she is there and Data is assimilated. it means getting rid of some cool scenes but in the end, I don't think it would hurt the movie any. Thoughts?

The idea sounds good, but why edit a movie that is allready good?
However, your idea could be applied to End of Days, revealing not until the very end, that Gabriel Bourne is indeed the Devil...

Seems like a lot of the postings here have become reviews of the work that Boon's done -- so, allow me to put in my two cents.

I saw the original film theatrically and was completely unimpressed -- the idea of the Nexus just never cut it for me and I'm tired of seeig the Enterprise destroyed. Likewise, I didn't understand why Picard would choose to go to the moment in time that he did -- why not give himself a few days rather than a few minutes. Blah, blah, blah.

So, it took quite a leap of faith to download Boon's version -- how could he eliminate an integral part of the film - James T. Kirk? Curiosity got the best of me, and I'm so glad it did.

KIRKLESS is one of the most skilled fan edits that I've seen -- taking out major sections rather than adding in deleted scenes. And, to make a long story short; it works. There are still some logic gaps that come straight from the script but the removal of Kirk makes the movie move a lot faster and keeps it far more interesting. Now, rather than having a glaring hole in my ST collection -- 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8.... I can fit GENERATIONS (KIRKLESS GENERATIONS) in to that slot without hesitation.

Great job, Boon. I'm excited to see this revamp of KIRKLESS and am downloading it right now.

I see that 5 is not in your collection. Have you seen the Star Trek Phase II edit of 5?

Yupper, that's what resides there -- another one of my fave fan edits. I just have yet to get cover art for it -- that's why it's not hanging in its proper spot.

Doesn't your disc have a DVD-ROM folder with covers by Blaksvn? If not, pm me with your email address and I'll send them to you.
