The official DVDs are anamorphic. If you are referring to the next set due out in September that will include the OOT in a non-anamorphic LD transfer as a "bonus" feature, yes you can get rid of the black bars but all you are doing is streching out an already low resolution image....which will make it look worse on most tv screens....

edit: Oh ....I get it now...Are you thinking about trying to match up both releases and combine the footage? Good Idea, but OCPMOVIE already has done something similar to that and it was OK....you could really tell where the poorer footage was, so in the end it was kind of distracting....
