Below are captures from the Widescreen DVD and my (crappy) VHS copy of the ABC Edit. (I think you can tell which is which.)
And the verdict is yes and no. While there is obviously more picture above and below in the pan and scan edition, there is also more left and right in the letterbox transfer.
Now the ABC edit could very well be different from official P&S DVD, but I don't have that to make a comparison. Can anyone confirm or deny that it has the same cropping?
