The only way this is going to change is if people write a real letter on real paper and actually post it. Real letters often get action, internet petitions and the like hold little water. I saw a company guy on TV one time and he said one hard letter of complaint held more sway than 1000 e-mails or 100 phone calls.
If you are serious about this, write your letter now and mail it. I just finished mine, I kept it sensible and just said I have been waiting for this since I bought a DVD player in 1996, but I won't be buying a non-anamorphic version. I already have the laserdisc, and the VHS copy. Release it anamorphic from a film print and I'll preorder it today.

Get off your PCs and get down to your post office, a flood of real mail may change things. Endless discussion here or e-mails etc won't.
