Superman Movie — Page 15

True that. Let's not forget Return of Superman too - that's the most important part!

DC: The New Frontier would also make a great movie. Hell, tonnes of comics would make great movies if they were directly translated over.

I don't think Hollywood respects the audience or the source material enough to do that.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

I dunno. With X-Men, LOTR, Spider-Man, Batman Begins, Harry Potter and Narnia, we're finding Hollywood really is starting to respect both the audience AND the source. Note all of those films did not hang their hat on A-list star power either. Rather, solid casting (Kirsten Dunst notwithstanding) and an ensemble atmosphere. The result is that we are indeed starting to get respect in return for our hard earned cash.

I keep hoping this movie will be good. Positive buzz is starting to come out. I have my concerns about the casting, but they, too fit the paradigm above. So we shall see. I hope all my fears get absolved as they did with Spider-Man.

Not counting Daredevil, Elektra and Catwoman of course.

I didn't think DD was that bad a movie. Haven't seen Elektra so really can't comment. Catwomen I turned off half way through. Truly one of the worst films I'v ever had the misfortune to see!
I am looking forward to Superman though.

Well, there's no possible way that it could be worse than Catwoman. That's just no possible.

Elektra was a truly horrible movie, I had to turn it off within the first ten minutes of watching it.

They should have based both DD and Elektra on the work of Frank Miller. If they remained true to source material like that, I can't imagine anything going wrong.

I dunno about the rest of you guys, but after seeing the second trailer I am even more stoked about this movie.

Did you hear the way that Routh talked and looked as CK? Couldn't be more like Reeve IMO.

New trailer is the first bit of really promising footage. I said it with Spidey and I'll say it with this: "It just better not suck."

If this film cannot meet my low expectations, then it is a sad, sad day for Hollywood. Hopefully it'll blow them away. We shall see.

Yeah, that's what I mean. In all sincerity, I want this film, more than any other this year, to be good. I really do.

Having said that, I sincerely wanted the Star Wars prequels to be good, right to the last as well.

Other films I really want to be good (but I'm not holding my breath):

Casino Royale
Indy 4
and
Pirates of the Caribbean 2

I'm afraid the game will be better than the actual movie.

I saw the trailer on the big screen last night. I'm looking forward to this one.

Poseidon.

This town I'm in, Jamestown, it's a joke. There's 2 cinemas with uncomfortable seats each showing 2 movies (one at 7, one at 9). I had a choice of Poseidon, MI:2, some comedy called RV starring Robin Williams, and another comedy called Larry the cable guy.

Poseidon was pretty good though - does what it says on the tin. Just an enjoyable 90 minutes, nothing more, nothing less.

For Superman though I'm gonna drive 100 miles to the next town (Fargo, as in the movie) to catch it on a decent screen with surround sound.

If I had to see one of those four movies ... had to, as if my life depended on it ... I'd pick Larry the Cable Guy.

Pathetic isn't it.

Agreed. Apparently Jamestown has some sort of weirdo revival house theater, and it's beyond me why they're running M:I-2. That was probably one of the worst, or at least most disappointing, movies I've paid to see. M:I-3 was quite enjoyable, though, and the fact it was free made it that much better. I just wish they'd run the Superman trailer before it.

My bad - they're showing MI:3. I haven't seen it yet, but the piece of shit they call MI:2 coupled with my detest for Tom Cruise has put me off it so far. But with Jamestown's limited cinematic ameneties, I might have to succumb to the Cruisester.

And The Da Vinci code is out tomorrow so it looks like one of the other 3 movies will have to be dropped. I'm betting RV will get the chop. We'll see.

What a shit place to live. I'm glad I'm only here temporarily.
