Mike, any words of wisdom (or, hey a release of the plugin you wrote
) on your technique for repainting the laser glows in the opening shot? I've tried a number of methods, from a 3D solution via a Maya shader (totally unsatisfying, but maybe a custom Mental Ray camera shader....dunno), to a series of gausian blurs applied frame by frame in PS, but nothing is quite right, The PS solution came closest to the right look, but looses the taper of the bolt and glow once you make the blur the appropriate size. Any specifics you can share?
