No problem. I'm just amazed that I did something that so many people are proud of, and were able to follow my directions. I barely know what I'm doing myself. This all came about because I added subtitles to the editdroid A New Hope. I searched videohelp.com for tutorials on how to add subtitles and keep the menu. This is where I discovered programs such as muxman and vobblanker.

Wow... very sweet!
I have to buy the RotS DVD though... I have put it off for too long...
(Waiting for Lucas to make a 6-DVD set)
I will want to get it, even for just this...
Buahahaha!

I'm sort of surprised you didn't go with the 5.1 audio.

I know the special 4th subtitles are suppose to be a surprise, but I'm not seeing anything when I use them (at least randomly skipping around the film). Can you clue me in what I should be seeing?

Hey everyone- do the above! I don't know how useful it is, but I basically just wanted to see if it could be done. I'll tell you how it was done later.

Yeah that's it. Supposed to be an MST3K type thing. It was made by using the font "Star Wars Kit" from dafont.com at a really really large size. It's just like 5 letters that stay on the screen for 10 minutes (the longest a subtitle can be displayed), that keep repeating. Could be useful for a MST3K-like commentary of some kind?

Ok, yes saw it. Shame we can't do animated like the Brother Bear DVD or something.
But good work on this DVD, thank you!
I loved being able to rip and build this myself and have it ready to go without having to d/l or something.

Yeah, and I don't have a way to upload something reallly big, like a full DVD. Brother Bear has animated overlay people things? Hmm, I have to check that out. The original release of Ghostbusters has it too.

The reason for not using 5.1 audio was that I thought it would make the DVD too big. There shouldn't be a problem, however, if you guys decide to use 5.1 instead of 2.0.

It took a bit of work and finishing touches getting everything to work properly, but I think I did a pretty decent job. The one thing I wish I could fix is the resume movie button. I didn't really think it thru that well. It only works if you have previously played the movie before pushing the button.

Oh yeah, what do you guys think of my alternate menu? I did my best to find pictures of backstrokes and western stuff. I found a picture of Natalie Portman swimming (backstroke), Hayden Christensen in a cowboy type outfit (west), to which I added a cowboy hat, which was actually originally on a picture of some girl, ha, ha. A random cactus and some guy riding a horse. Plus a picture of Yoda in a snow globe, or it could be in a bubble from the water. The lightsaber Hayden is holding is actually from a fan made picture of some guy holding a lightsaber.

Sorry, but it's only legal if you make this project yourself. Someone could upload my kit to myspleen or usenet, probably, but not the whole project.

That's cool! Will this work with PAL version of EPIII? I might give it a shot at the weekend if it does

I don't know for sure. Someone in here was gonna try it I think. If I had access to a PAL version, I'd give it a shot myself.

For those of you having trouble with RapidShare I've uploaded the how-to kit with the fixed VIDEO_TS files already in the proper folder as well as the custom cover by Erik and Ell. You can get it from MegaUpload now.

Backstroke.rar

I hope that this makes things a little easier for people trying to download the kit. For those of you still downloading from RapidShare make sure that you download the VIDEO_TS.zip file first and then the Backstroke.zip file otherwise RapidShare will make you wait 80 minutes to download the VIDEO_TS.zip file.

Has anyone tried using DVD Shrink on the Official DVD, then ripping the files from that?

This method works fine and is in fact the method I used when creating the disc.

I got the download a few hours ago. I'll try it this weekend and see how it goes.

I tried it but the video files talked about the guide did not exist on the PAL version. Either that or I am stoopid....probably the latter come to think of it

Now, the real project would be to sample hours of SW actors' voices and cut and glue them to form the actual spoken sentences from this, er, version, and insert that dialogue over the actual one...

For all it matters, you could get a bunch of drunk people together and record a new audio track for it.

Could somebody list all the files that should be in the VIDEO_TS foulder? Mine is *almost* working but has a few quirks and I wonder if I don't have a couple of extra files. Thanks

Isn't that one called Geordie Star Wars? Although it is the OT, not PT.

This is great. But I was wondering if anyone has made a disc label for it?

Good question. Maybe I'll give it a try.
