I was just looking through Wikipedia a second ago reading bios of Star Wars cast members. I had just read Alec Guiness and then went to James Earl Jones. And it said that he died today (May 14, 2006)! Can anyone confirm the validity of this? Is he really dead?

Don't see anything about it on CNN or Fox News. If you look at the other edits made by the guy who added the death date, you can see that he's a troll, and even as I wrote this, some of his shenanigans have already been reverted.

Holy crap i hope not! IMDB which usually has these type of late-breaking news is silent on the matter. Interestingly on his wiki page it also states "Jones' death was erroneously announced in 1998 by Pittsburgh Pirates radio baseball commentator Lanny Frattare when James Earl Ray died." I hope this is a similar blunder!

As I said in the Off Topic version of this thread, I've been doing some research and have similarly come up with nothing substantial to confirm it. It's possible that it's just a false alarm. But I guess we'll know for sure when the morning news comes around.

Well, I'm just glad it's not true. I remember after the last Star Wars death, a lot of people proposed he might be next on the list.
