I have to admit that it was one of the most patented amounts of bull I have ever seen.

Half the games from last year were missing. Nothing amazing announced (except what I talk about later). they didn't mention the ps2, just barely touched the PSP.

There was barely any gameplay. Of what there was, only one game looked to have any truly new concepts of gaming, that prepared by sony. I won't spoil it, but undoubtedly, anybody who saw it knows what I mean. The graphics? Looked at about God Of War level, there was some amazing graphics in a few areas, but overall it was just meh.

Oh, and here's a funny link for you Sony tries to steal the Revolution.

Yes, that's right, sony has put an acceleromter into the new PS3 controller (which looks like a ps2 controller).
THEY DIDN'T EVEN WAIT FOR WII TO BE RELEASED!!!!!! (read the article!!! if you're lazy you'll regret it)

I have to admit, I am completely blown away by the audacity of the move. You'll note there was no amazing cheering. Just silence. Cold silence. Like the barrel of several hundred guns being brought to bear. You could almost hear the WTF reverberating unsaid from the walls of the room. You take several hundred journalists. All of whom GREW UP WITH NINTENDO who are waiting a YEAR absolutely baited breath for NINTENDO TO DROP A REVOLUTION and you pull that kind of crap????? That kind of killed the conference there.... Let me know if you got the feeling that everybody was just couldn't wait to get out of there? It's the first time i've ever seen a live sony conference (ive seen a nintendo and an apple) and that was the most subdued thing i've ever seen. No cheering. No catterwalling. A small amount of clapping overall.

Sigh. 20h till nintendo conference.....

imma notta going to a-make it...

Edit: they released the prices too, i forgot.
November release: 499$ american for a version with a 20gb hardrive
apx. 599$ american for a versio with a 60gb harddisk.

I disagree. I thought the games looked amazing...

BUT, I do agree that copying the Wiimote functions and calling it innovation is the biggest bunch of BS in the history of E3. And that price tag means "Chaltab need not apply."

I was talking to some people in forums, and even with Chaltab here yesterday about this crappy move by Sony. So what we have now is a console as expensive as the 3DO, with hardware no better than the Xbox360, copying their xbox live functionalities, and what is worse, doing a crappy copy of the Wiimote. Let me tell you a little bit about that:

Sony had this boolmerange controller, that was the official controller for the PS3. Very cute. Then, Nintendo shows the revolutionary Wiimote. Sony suddenly STOPS showing the controller. The boolmerange disapears. No information. And now, they show up this dual shock, with NO rumble, with a gyroscope inside. That's right. It's not like Nintendo's controller, that captures it's positioning anywhere, this PS3 crap only has a Wario Twisted inside, a freaking gyroscope. And the best part is: Sony gave the Warhawk group only 2 weeks to implement motion sensoring into their game. So they came up with that crappy imitation just now!

Sorry, but Sony has lost.

here's a little something they failed to mention (and its pretty big).

"the 20 gigabyte system won't have Memory Stick, SD or Compact Flash reading capability or WiFi support."

thats right. The 20 gig version WONT HAVE WIRELESS.

and in case you missed it in rics post, no rumble either. It 'interfered' with the gyro tech. Which just makes it sound tacked on. If it removes a vital aspect of your controller then fix it. apparently this feature was added less than 6 weeks ago. Warhawk made their demo on 2 weeks notice(i can't figure that one out). Nintendo has rumble in the Wiimote.... looks like theirs in an integral part off gameplay rather than just a gimick.

n(gimmick)-a feature tacked onto a product that has no real effect on the use of the product
adj(tacked)- done quickly, in a hurry.

Well, Nintendo ended up being right.

Nintendo delayed announcing anything about its controller until last E3 because they KNEW it would be copied. They were right. Rumor has it they have another huge bombshell to drop on this year's E3. I can't wait to see what it is.

The announcements about Zelda (today) and Madden (about 2 weeks ago) are amazing though.

That would be something. Some of the less conventional weapons would be more difficult to replicate (whatshername...the teenager from Soul Caliber 2 with the things that look like police batons...Talim I think was the name). Swords are easy.

I gotta go with the rest of you. While I still have reservations about the Wii, AND love the 360, the ONLY thing that really interests me about the PS3 is Blu-Ray player, and that undoubtedly will be a piece of crap (not Blu-ray, just the player). And I still have yet to see any in-game footage from the PS3 too. And $600 beans to boot? No thanks.

sony will be ok, ps 3 is goign to kick xbox 360s ass, and the new nintendo, will make a massive grab in the market but sony will still have ts foot hold.

I agree that PS3 will be the end all system (until PS4 ), but it's hard to say how popular Wii will be until people really try it tommorow at E3.

I don't know about that. PS3 may have a lot to offer, but a lot of its stuff is just bigger prettier versions of modern games, and the price tag is way steep.

You might not. And I certainly wouldn't. BUT - there were plenty of people willing to drop over $1000 - $1500 on XBOX 360 on ebay. It will be interesting to see if the Wii will reclaim the gaming crown for Nintendo. But didn't people say that when Gamecube was released. I'd be interested in seeing the Wii's capabilities on an HDTV. Admittedly, I haven't checked out any of the specs on it.

Casual gamers won't pay that much.

Nor will I. I thought the 360 price was ridiculous, but the PS3 has gone above and beyond the call of absurdity for a modern gaming machine. I will probably not have a Wii before this Christmas and maybe even later than that. I'm sticking with this generation for a little while longer.
