In my edit, when Pippin picks up the Palantir at Isengard, he immediately sees the eye of Sauron. Here's a screencap of that scene (basically a zoomed-in version of the scene later in the movie when he looks into the Palantir):

I removed all references to the Mumakil ("Oliphaunts") entirely, so I had to zoom in portions of the Eowyn-Witchking confrontation in order to keep those creatures (mostly) out of sight. Here are some examples:
