Yeah. I know you have a life too. I just brought it up because I know myself (and many others I'm sure) would be thrilled to see that complete scene with a decent blade.
2. I can sort of see your point, but I'm not convinced the film's been sped up. I think it's just a couple of smokey flashes coupled with some whippy camera work.
I watched the scene again and again and again......Now I'm just dizzy....Something looks odd as she makes the jump....but I can't place it.
3. Unfortunately the only thing I could replace it with (currently) would be a Laserdisc capture, and I decided at the start that I wouldn't use any lower-quality elements (the only exception will be Sebastian Shaw at the end of RoTJ). Perhaps when the new DVDs come out I'll take another look.
Point taken and agreed. You don't want to lower the quality. Besides, I always have my laserdisc copy if I want to view the scene in it's original form.
I sat down and watched the scene again. One thing that really jumped out at me was this guy:

Here you have a nice crisp looking speeder....with this horrible cgi ronto. It ruins the shot imo.
