"As far as complaints about 5.0 sound, was that capability even available when these films were released, or would making them 5.0 technically be tampering with the original sound mixes to artificially retrofit the old movies with a newer technology? Sort of like colorizing a b&w white movie? I don't know - just curious if anyone else knows."

There was a 6-track master for the 70mm version.
