Help Wanted: The Phantom Tollbooth - can anyone do a preservation? a request...

This is a film I loved as a child and I would love to see a DVD preservation project for it. I’m just sending out shouts to see if anyone has a a LaserDisc copy and if anyone would be willing to copy it to DVD. I don’t have either (LaserDisc player or The Phantom Tollbooth LaserDisc), but would love it if there was anyone out there willing to do this. I may try and get a copy on LaserDisc for someone to preserve if there is interest, I’ll start looking on eBay.

The DVD will probably come out in the next year or so. I heard from a source that it was in the works a while ago and The Dot and the Line would be included as an extra. There's a very long delay between transfer and release.

It would also be in its original 1.85:1 format, unlike the laserdisc.

Oh cool, I hope you're right OgOggilby, that would be great! Anyone got any more info on this?

Still be good to get a LaserDisc rip until the official DVD comes out though

Though I bumped this topic to tell you that The Phantom Tollbooth in now available from The Warner Archive Collection!:

Do note, DVDaf says it will be available from the Archive Collection on November 30th, so it safe to say that this is a mistake.
