In another life I was known as a comedian ... even did a self-deprecating reference to Empire Classic in my standup act once (Live at Laguna Beach video).

I may not be funny there either, but it comes out when I let it.

ADDENDUM -- Among all the fake emotion displayed, I'm very very glad that the Star Wars laserdisc is dead. The quality of your Star Wars laserdisc, particularly the NTSC ones, is awful, and I'm very glad that we don't have to deal with them anymore, even for the relatively brief "non special edition" segments.

Some people believe that laserdiscs have a certain magical quality. I laugh at these people. Some people will continue to do laserdisc transfers. I laugh at these people.

I'm glad that we can have the trilogy on DVD in whatever quality ... and work from there.

Call it the LID project .... Laserdisc is Dead, so put a lid on it.

My mood is fluctuating. Sorry. It's just that I've been dealt a few insults of late for speaking my mind. (Off this board I'm talking about.)

Apparently I'm not a true Star Wars fan for actually wanting the original trilogy on DVD and not laserdisc, and recognizing that there is a quality difference between the two.

It's been said that if you put a million monkeys on a million typewriters and allow them to type randomly, they will eventually reproduce Shakespeare's entire body of work.

The Internet has obviously proven this NOT to be the case.

(Then again, this supposition allows for a timeframe of one million years. )

Dead or not, the Laserdiscs still have better cover art.
And there's still a bunch non-SW stuff not on DVD that's worth preserving.
