Has anyone here tried Coca-Cola Black? I got one at Joe Muggs recently, and the cashier lady actually laughed at the look of revulsion that crossed my face. She seemed kind of sympathetic that she couldn't give me my money back.

Oh, and RC Cola rocks.

Is this what you meant?

Atlanta, December 07, 2005 - The Coca-Cola Company today announced that it will launch Coca-Cola Blak in January in France, the first of several countries – including the United States - that are expected to introduce the new Coca-Cola and coffee fusion in 2006.

Coca-Cola Blak is an invigorating and stimulating blend that has a perfect balance of the effervescent taste sensation of Coca-Cola and natural flavors, with real coffee. The lightly carbonated, mid-calorie beverage, which is designed to appeal to adult consumers, is yet another example how The Coca-Cola Company reaches out to new audiences and addresses new beverage occasions.

"Coca-Cola Blak is not just a flavor extension. It is a blend of unique Coke refreshment with the true essence of coffee and has a rich smooth texture and has a coffee-like froth when poured. We believe we have created a new category of soft drink – an adult product in a carbonated beverage – and a whole new drinking experience. This brand is ideal for any part of the day when people are looking for renewed energy or simply to take a break," said Marc Mathieu, vice president, Global Core Brands, The Coca-Cola Company.

This is just as disturbing as when SNL did their "Crystal Gravy" spoof. As curious as I usually am, I will be passing on this one.

Coca-Cola Blak tastes like krappe! And to comment on that quote by Mark Mathieu, coffee is NOT an adult product...I know many 14 and 15-year-olds that drink it on a daily basis.

Coffee drinkers are drug addicts.

How the hell do you figure that? That's a pretty ignorant statement right there.

That one. You telling me drinking a cup of coffee in the morning is the same thing as shootin' up with heroin in the morning?

The facts about Coffee: You develop a tolerance for Coffee. You develop a dependency for Coffee. If you abruptly stop drinking Coffee (while being a casual user), you will experience withdrawals.

Bullshit. I've drank coffee every morning for two months straight, and then abruptly stopped. No change at all.

Tell me, do you drink soft drinks Jag? Because the same "addictive" ingredients in coffee are also in soft drinks.

Yeah but there's 10 times more in coffee.

I guess it's different for everyone, but I knew someone who drank WAAAY too much coffee, like 10 cups a day. I guess it's an extreme case but the point is, one day she didn't have time for coffee and went the whole day without it. She ended up passing out and hallucinating...

So yeah, forget what I said about being a casual user, you would need to be a coffee maniac to have really bad withdrawals. But my point was just that coffee is a drug that can be abused just like coccaine or heroin... it's just not as strong (and has different effects).

Get a room, guys.

I'm a Coke person, though one in a while I have to take a break from it. I've tried some of the Coke variants (except for the new Coke in the black can or whatever. Coke One or Zero or something like that. Just doesn't look appealing to me.)

As for root beer, I like A&W, but my wife prefers Mug. She says it's not as sweet. We both dislike Barq's tremendously.

I was a big Mountain Dew fan as a kid, but not so much anymore. I can drink Dr. Pepper and Pepsi if there is no Coke.

I really dig on home-brewed Cola/Soda/Root Beer but since I've not been able to master that art (I have also home brewed beer, sadly only from extracts) BUT I gotta pick Coca-Cola as MY personal best pop!

1. Classic Coke served in a glass bottle, chilled to 37 degrees.
2. Classic Coke from a properly adjusted fountain tap on ice.
3. Classic Coke in a can, chilled to 37 degrees.
4. Classic Coke from a 2 litter bottle over ice (the worse tasting of all)
5. Classic Coke brewed and bottled in Mexico AS cold as you can get it (it's WAY TOO sweet so it's not my fav)

If I'm outta my Coca-Cola then it's fruit juice or ICE cold tap water (bottled water is for suckaz)

Something just popped into my head as I was thinking about Coca-Cola Blak. Anyone remember this line from The Simpsons?

I'm with Nanner on this one. My mom quit coffee cold turkey after drinking three to five cups a day for 30+ years. No effect whatsoever. No withdrawal, no shakes, no nothing. And she was not a decaf drinker, either. She was drinking her shit straight black, full caf. She was a teacher... decaf would've done her no good.

Having never had a morning after the night before, I can't vouch for that, but Red Bull is some powerful wake-up juice.
