Splinter was at one point going to be George's low budgeted sequel since he thought Star Wars would only be "mildly successful". Which Han Solo trilogy are you talking about? There are two of them by different authors. Brian Daley's is my favorite. The Lando books also harken back to a simpler time when there wasn't so much baggage in the SW universe.
