Never been fired. I've been with the library for 8 years this coming July (only 1 other staff member at my branch has been there longer than me), since I got out of high school. Not sure they could fire me either. I get plenty of compliments from the people that use the computers, my coworkers enjoy having me around and I think they'd have to get me to train whoever my replacement would be.

If they ever got rid of me, I imagine it would be so they could cut costs. I'm doing essentially the same job I was doing when I started, and my pay has increased by...76%. They could get some high-school fresh kid like I was.

Jenny, if I was in your position, having to come back for a couple days after being fired, I'd be very tempted to...supplement my income...before leaving. Walk out with a box of pens, a ream of paper, something like that.
