This disc is created with the 2004 Official DVD, Moth3r PAL ANH laserdisc transfer and ocpmovie’s Star Wars: Classic Edition for the Binary Sunset, this scene was for me almost impossible to do just with Photoshop CS2.

The audio mix is created using the audio of the 1995 THX laserdisc and the original mono mix.
The sound mix is Dolby Digital 2.0 AC3 at 448kbps.
I will include three different audio tracks, the new “0.77” audio mix, an isolated score and a new commentary track.
The “0.77” audio mix is almost entirly made with the 1995 audio, but I used the DVD audio for Mos Eisley, because I really liked the expanded Mos Eisley. The “droid” and “Jawa” scenes have been cut out.

This is a PAL project made with Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe Audition, Womble, VirtualDubMod and TMPGenc.
I overall sharpened the image and applyed a slight color correction. The image is brightend to match the original version of Star Wars.

As extra’s I will include the cut Biggs scenes, the original Jabba scene and part one of an edited version of “Empire of Dreams” (this will include new footage).

A pics of a few edits (the quality of the pics doesn’t match the DVD, it looks way better ):
Tantive IV has back his red/yellow engines!
Green laserblots for the Devastator
a GREY Devastator
Fixed Title Card
LOOK! Luke’s lightsaber is BLUE instead of GREEN
I will post some menu shots tomorrow.
I hope you guys will like the final edit

So is this basically a de-SE project? In which case, isn't the name Star Wars: Special Edition kind of confusing?

I left several SE elements in, thats the reason that I named it Star Wars: Special Edition

I'm intrigued... What SE elements did you leave in? How long in the making are you?

I am glad to se another PAL-project as I think it is superior to NTSC. I hope you finnish it.

I hope that I can release this in about 2 or 3 weeks, I just left the Destruction of Alderaan, Battle of Yavin (NOT the DS explosion), Mos Eisley and the Sandcrawler SE versions in. I'm working on this for about 2 or 3 weeks. Today I burned a test disc and founded out that the score still needs some work. For some reason the synch was about 2/3 ms off but this doesn't happen when I watch the original .m2v file on my PC :S The only things left to do is correcting some minor stuff (ex. ship flying in front of the vaporator) and rotoscoping the duel between Ben and Vader.

Thx for your support I am re-editing some scenes because I am planning to do a Single and Dual layer release. The SL version is already finished but doesn't not yet contain the commentary track, isolated score or extra's, but their is still some work to do on the DL version, I started from scrath to get maximum quality from this disc (and because the decrypt program I use now has way better quality settings ) The audio mixes on the DL disc will be PCM instead of Dolby Digital 2.0 AC3 and I will include a few new extra's for this disc. I will release them both together in about a month

Master Skywalker,

What are you using to create your new commentary track?

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Is Luke's lightsaber tampered with in that shot only? Or was any other rotoscoping done for it?

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

I rotoscoped the entire scene because at some shots the color is off and the green saber didn't even had a white core, so I was forced to re-rotoscope it.
