I've got that CD. I love the fact that Johnny B Goode is credited to Marty McFly and the Starlighters, but I hate the fact that it is not the full on van-halen-tapping-crawl-on-the-floor-guitar-behind-the-head version from the movie.

War does not make one great.

Ah, I love that song. I don't have the CD, but I do have it on MP3 at home. Going home today, so maybe I'll get to listen to it again!

EDIT: Oops, I was actually referring to Power of Love, but the exact same scenario applies to YIYF's post as well.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I think the Q&A might be video as well as audio on the UK set - anyone know?

I don't think CD audio is compressed, but older stuff recorded on analog doesn't always sound as "loud" as all digital recordings.

The original thread was about star wars!! if you want to talk about BTTF go to one of the non star wars sections

Hey, that's just how the topic evolved, and you don't really have a right to tell us what we can and can't talk about.

Well, Marty does do a great Darth Vader impression in the first film.

And if you think about it, Marty McFly and the ESB Luke Skywalker look very very similar. Do you ever notice that? I do. They both have that same adorable baby face quality about them. *swoon*

Also the music compression rate was lower in the 80's so I have to crank my player up to 21-22 to get a good loud sound (as opposed to the typical 18-19 for a normal CD).

That's actually a good thing. Throughout the years they've tended to increasingly raise the levels while mastering CD's. This can cause distortion and "muddiness." It's better to amplify a slightly quieter source than to record too loud. A lot of people don't realize that a lot of newer remastered versions of CDs are actually inferior to older versions for this and other reasons. Not that I'm a big audiophile or anything but I do some mixing and I suppose I care about this type of thing more than most.
